CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING LOAD MANAGEMENT
WHAT IS IT?
This program allows your home and/or business to receive a $5.00 per month credit for allowing your central air conditioning unit to be cycled during peak demand periods. The air conditioning unit will be cycled, 15 minutes on – 15 minutes off, during those peak periods. The credit will be paid June through August for any billing month where the account uses 400 kWh or more.

HOW IT WORKS
- Your air conditioner may be cycled during peak periods of electrical demand via a radio signal
- There is no charge for the Load Management hardware
- You will recieve a $5 per month credit for each central A/C unit on the program, provided the kWh usage requirements are met
- The program runs June, July, and August
ENERGY-SAVING TIPS
You can reduce air conditioning energy use by 20-50 percent by switching to a high-efficiency air conditioner and following some of our energy-saving tips.
- Regularly clean and replace your cooling unit's filters
- Install and set a programmable thermostat
- Use a ceiling fan and raise the thermostat about 4°F
- Insulate your attic and walls, and seal cracks and openings to prevent warm air from leaking in
- Insulate and seal ducts - air loss through ducts accounts for about 30% of a cooling system's energy consumption
- Install energy-efficient window coverings that let natural light in and prevent solar heat gain
- Don't heat your home with appliances. Consider using an outdoor grill instead of an oven.
- Buy an ENERGY STAR-qualified air conditioning unit
