WHAT IS IT?
Distributed Energy Resources (DER) are energy generation or storage technologies that allow you to produce and consume electricity on your own. Utilizing solar panels, wind, biomass energy, or battery storage you can have less reliance on the electric grid and generate your own renewable energy. ECEC supports DERs as a viable and sound means of meeting electric needs of various consumer groups. We have actively participated in the administrative development of Distributed Energy Resources throughout Wisconsin.

GETTING STARTED
- New systems and transferring ownership starts with the NOVA Power Portal. All required information will be uploaded here.
- As part of the online application, sign the DER Interconnection Agreement.
- Pay the Distributed Energy Resource fees via the NOVA Power Portal.
- Upload proof of the required amount of liability insurance.
- Work with your installer to create a site plan showing the location of main pieces of equipment, and a schematic diagram of the entire system.
- Provide the technical specifications of the inverter and proof that it is UL 1741 or IEEE 1547 compliant.
