LINEWORKER SAFETY

Together we make a powerful difference
It takes a team to power a community. From lineworkers to engineers to service representatives to administrative professionals — every single employee’s job is important in the team and so is his/her safety.
A culture of safety is about shared values and attitudes. It’s about open communication lines and accountability. It means every single person plays a vital role in being responsible for safety and taking action to correct unsafe behaviors. Doing a job safely is an important part of doing it well.
Be an active part of the culture of safety—for yourself and for others. Ways you can do this include:
- Following all safety procedures.
- Sharing safety information.
- Speaking up about safety risks.
- Continually learning.
- Looking out for each other.
Helen Keller said it well when she said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Teamwork is integral in our success in working safely as we meet the needs of our communities and the goals and expectations of our consumers.
“We care about our people and the communities we serve, and helping everyone stay safe is a big part of that. I thank all of our employees for working safely and our consumers for being mindful of wires above and on the ground,” says CEO Monica Obrycki.
We are a part of an even larger team of Safe Electricity utilities because we are committed to making safety a priority — among our employees and for our consumers. We encourage you to spread some TLC: Teach what you know, Learn what you need to, and Care enough to share it with others. SafeElectricity.org has videos, articles, and more to help teach others about electrical safety.
Everyone plays an important part of the team that is keeping our communities safe and powered. Each of you bring unique skills and perspectives that contribute to the success of the utility, and together we are making a powerful difference. Thank you for all that you do!
